Yack blanc est une œuvre murale alliant porcelaine et textile, où des centaines de poils en porcelaine, façonnés et cousus un à un à la main, forment une fourrure dense, évoquant celle du yack. Inspirée de techniques ancestrales observées lors de résidences artistiques au Groenland, cette pièce prolonge une recherche sur les liens entre gestes vernaculaires et création contemporaine. Le yack incarne, comme le phoque ou l’ours polaire au Groenland, une relation essentielle entre l’humain et l’animal. En remplaçant la peau par de la porcelaine, l’œuvre rend hommage à ces échanges vitaux tout en affirmant une pratique respectueuse et actuelle.
Yack Blanc is a mural artwork combining porcelain and textile. Hundreds of porcelain strands, shaped and hand-stitched one by one, form a dense fur-like surface evoking the white yak. Inspired by ancestral techniques observed during artist residencies in Greenland, the piece extends a reflection on the connection between vernacular gestures and contemporary creation. Like the seal or polar bear in Arctic cultures, the yak symbolizes a vital bond between humans and animals. By replacing animal skin with porcelain, the work pays tribute to these essential relationships while embracing a respectful and contemporary approach.
PHOQUE ANNELÉ

Phoque annelé est une fourrure en porcelaine inspirée des couleurs d’un animal emblématique du Groenland, le phoque annelé. Chaque filament de porcelaine est teinté, modelé, délicatement enfourné puis cousu un à un à la main sur un tissu. Le phoque annelé est un
animal emblématique au Groenland, il est essentiel à l’équilibre de la biodiversité marine et pour la vie des communautés inuit.
Pour la réalisation de cette pièce je me suis inspirée des peaux de phoques que l’on peut admirer dans le village d’Akunnaaq, sur la côte Ouest du Groenland. Comme un tableau, j’ai souhaité tout centrer sur la texture et les couleurs de cet animal aux poils translucide comme la porcelaine.
Pour moi, il est essentiel de mettre en valeur toute la beauté de ces animaux extraordinaires et menacés par le réchauffement climatique et la pollution.

My inspiration for this piece came from the seal skins that can be seen in the village of Akunnaaq, on the west coast of Greenland. Like a painting, I wanted to focus on the texture and colours of this animal, whose fur is as translucent as porcelain.
For me, it's essential to highlight the beauty of these extraordinary animals, which are threatened by global warming and pollution.

Premier prototype de fourrure de porcelaine brodée.
Cette oeuvre est inspirée par les peaux de phoque que j'ai pu observer à Akunnaaq au Groenland en 2019. Les Inuit travaillent les peaux animales puis les étirent sur un cadre en bois pour décorer leurs maisons.

This work was inspired by the seal skins I saw in Akunnaaq in Greenland in 2019. The Inuit work the animal skins and then stretch them on a wooden frame to decorate their homes.
